State-of-the-art electrical, solar and communications in new education facility

The educational facilities at Brisbane’s Villanova College are second-to-none, including the new Learning Centre building completed in 2020.

Cu2 Electrical carried out the complete electrical installation to the new building, proudly delivering on time, on budget and with nil defects. Our team also designed and installed a complete energy management system so all students can view energy generation and consumption on screens throughout the building.

We delivered a lighting control system throughout the auditorium, installed a 100Kw solar system and delivered complete control, security and communication systems throughout the building.

Cu2 Electrical also replaced the school’s main switchboard, which was full of moisture and corroded due to poor installation by others.

There were a couple of challenging elements in this project. To reduce interruption to staff and students, we installed new underground services out of school hours. Trenching and excavating and hauling cables throughout the school required excellent coordination between our team and our client, Buildcorp. Trying to find cable and service paths was extremely challenging, however through great coordination with other trades, we managed to get all services run through conduits in concrete slabs and the job completed to the client’s great satisfaction.
