LOCATION: 400 Vulture Street, Kangaroo Point Brisbane
PROJECT COST: $330,000
PROJECT DURATION: 18 months
The transformation of the derelict two-storey Telstra exchange building at 400 Vulture Street, into a four-storey, 52-unit residential building with commercial space and coffee shop was an exciting project to be part of.
This 1949-building was the first automatic telephone exchange in Queensland and was developed into a unique, industrial art deco-meets-steam punk residential apartment building.
Cu2 Electrical was responsible for the complete design and construction of all electrical, data and lighting, as well as installing secure keyless entry to all parts of the building.
This 18-month project also included a main switchboard upgrade, distribution board replacements, installation of new mains and rising mains, and installation of emergency lighting to bring the building up to code.
Our team worked closely with the developer to deliver their vision, within their budget, while also ensuring we didn’t damage anything in the heritage building.
